Well, it took me 5 months but we are finally here. This large, nearly 3 foot long painting, was a journey to make. As many who follow me on social media know, this is not exactly how the painting looked from the start. I made drastic changes to the girl’s face and body, but I am sure glad I took the risk!

This oil painting is called “Wandering Dreams” and it was inspired by many things. The overall feeling came from A Midsummer Night Dream, which I loved as a child. But since I have been painting wolves so often lately, I thought I would replace the donkey with a wolf instead. I don’t usually paint nudes, and Instagram has repeatedly punished me for that! However, I felt like it was right for this piece.

It was meant to feel natural in a way, her being a goddess of the fairies with her loyal wolf protector. She wouldn’t interest herself in human modesty but simply relax and enjoy her domain.

I added various mushrooms and fairies flitting about the painting. It is the sort of painting where if you owned it, you could spend a lot of time finding small details I added or new layers which you possibly hadn’t seen before.

This painting measures 90 x 55 cm and is painted on Belgian linen. I will be showing it in person at Mösseberggården in Falköping over Easter! April 18th – 21st laughing So if you’d like to see it up close and personal (which I recommend!) come on by!

Until then – have a fabulous transition into spring!
