About the Artist
The artist Christina Ridgeway is an American born oil painter, originating from Maryland USA, currently living in Falköping, Sweden.
She began her journey as a professional artist in 2012, when she adopted the magical realism style and began showing her work in galleries. Though she is primarily self-taught, she did attend the Swedish Academy of Realist art in Simirshamn in 2017, which enhanced her drawing and anatomy skills.
She has been involved in art shows around the world, including in the U.S, Germany, Australia and Sweden. She also curated the Mission Blue show for charity at Haven Gallery in New York which raised money to help protect the world’s oceans.
She works with oils on Belgian linen to create realistic paintings, infused with symbolism. Her goal is to create a visual story for the viewer.
“As an artist who has lived abroad most of her adult life, my universal language has always been paintings. My hope is to create a conversation between myself and the viewer, so that they can find their own meaning within my work and feel seen or inspired.”
