About the Artist
The artist Christina Ridgeway is an American born oil painter, originating from Maryland USA, currently living in Falköping, Sweden.
She began her journey as a professional artist in 2012, when she was invited to the Forgotten Goddess show in Los Angeles. Though she is primarily self-taught, she did attend the Swedish Academy of Realist art in Simirshamn in 2017. This was an enriching time, which enhanced her drawing and anatomy skills.
Today, she has been involved in art shows around the world, including in the U.S, Germany, Australia and Sweden. Her artwork has been published in various magazines and also have been featured on book covers.
Working with oils on Belgian linen, she creates realistic paintings, infused with symbolism. Her goal is to create a visual story for the viewer, exploring the dichotomy of human nature and the hidden emotional realms we all carry.
“As an artist who has lived abroad most of her adult life, my universal language has always been paintings. My hope is to create a conversation between myself and the viewer, so that they can find their own meaning within my work and feel seen.”
